Introducing The Prepared Parent — A Monthly Journal Companion for Montessori-Inspired Dads
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how fast parenting moves.
How little time we get to reflect on how we’re doing, how we’re feeling, who we’re becoming.
And I realized something:
If we want to raise present, grounded, emotionally intelligent kids…
we need to create space to become those things ourselves.
That’s what The Prepared Parent is for.
🌿 What Is The Prepared Parent?
The Prepared Parent is a new monthly reflection series for paid subscribers to Montessori Dad.
Each month, you’ll receive a short, gentle bundle of resources designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and reflect. It’s not more noise. It’s not more pressure. It’s a rhythm you can return to.
Here’s what you’ll get:
🧾 A Montessori-inspired mini lesson
A visual guide to one core parenting principle grounded in practice, not perfection.
🖊️ A downloadable journal prompt
A printable page to help you use the journal I created on Amazon, “Believe Me Kid, You Should Hear This,” as a living, breathing part of your parenting rhythm.
🎙️ A short voice note from me
3–5 minutes of story, presence, and perspective because sometimes you just need to hear a calm voice in the storm.
🛠️ Why This Exists
When I created the journal “Believe Me Kid, You Should Hear This,” it came from a place of needing to slow down.
I didn’t want another planner. I didn’t want another task list.
I wanted a place to pause.
To process the hard days.
To celebrate the tiny wins.
To remember that I’m learning, too.
But I also know this: it’s hard to show up to the page when you’re tired, stretched thin, or unsure where to begin.
So I created The Prepared Parent as a companion not just to the journal, but to you.
It’s the nudge. The structure. The soft voice saying,
“You’re not alone in this.”
📅 Volume 1 Is Live Now
Our first installment is available now for paid subscribers:
Volume 1: Prepared Environment / Prepared Self
In Montessori philosophy, the child’s environment is everything.
But we forget that we are part of that environment too.
This month, we’ll reflect on how your physical space and your emotional presence shape your child’s world—and how to begin preparing both.
No overwhelm. No perfection.
Just one small shift at a time.
📓 Don’t Have the Journal?
No problem. The Prepared Parent stands on its own.
But it’s also built to work hand-in-hand with the “Believe Me Kid, You Should Hear This” journal, which you can grab right here on Amazon.
(You can start the journal on any page, in any mood. You don’t have to be caught up. Just open it.)
🧠 Who This Is For
If you’re a dad trying to raise a kid with more presence than you were raised with…
If you’re experimenting with Montessori, or just trying to parent without yelling…
If you’re seeking rhythm, softness, and a moment to reflect without being told you’re doing it wrong…
This space is for you.
Thanks for being part of this.
And thank you, truly, for your support as a paid subscriber.
You’re not just helping me do this work, you’re helping yourself stay grounded in the most meaningful job you’ll ever have.
See you in Month 1.
